Jiang Linhe, born in December 1942 in She County, Anhui Province, is a Chinese artist renown for his landscape and floral paintings in traditional Chinese painting media. His works depicting Mt. Huangshan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site of magnificent scenery are striking and unique. To many, Jiang Linhe paints the soul of Mt. Huangshan. His Peony works are highly respected and earns him the fame of "Peony King".

Born into poverty, he grew up during a turbulent time. Jiang Linhe spent his youth peddling street food at his dumpling cart and manning machines at a mechnics factory. But he loved painting. When he was not busy with work, he practiced calligraphy and painting. He reached the turning point of his life when he found a job at the Shexian Ink Stone Company and later at the Shexian Ink Company. Ink Stone and Ink are two treasures of the Four Treasures of the Study (along with rice paper and the painting brush). He rose the ranks and became the head of the Ink Company and restored its glory as the most prestigous vendor of Hui Ink for Chinese painting. Jiang Linhe's time at the Ink Company bestowed upon him a serendipitous gift: visit by flocks of the most prominent Chinese artists who came to the Ink capital for the best ink. Linhe watched the masters paint, a treat that money can not buy. While Jiang Linhe never received a formal education in art, in a sense, he had mentors from many art schools. At the peak of his entrepreneural career, he pursued a full-time career as a professional artist and never looked back.

Mr. Jiang Linhe has held solo exhibitions at the National Art Museum of China in Beijing and at art museums in Shanghai, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Hefei, Zhuhai, and cities overseas in Japan, Singpore and United States. His works have become part of the classical collection in Zhongnanhai, the Great Hall and Beijing Rong Bao Zhai.

Jiang Linhe is the former vice president of the Chinese Association of Four Treasures of the Study, is a congressman at the Seventh, Eighth National People's Congress. He is a member of Chinese Artists Association, honorary chairman of Huangshan City Artists Association, and the current president of the Chinese Painting Research Institute of Huangshan.
